15 things to do this Spring now that it’s FINALLY warmed up and we can embrace the nice weather! I have been oh-so-patiently waiting for it to warm up so that I could do all the fun outdoor spring things. While most of our lives revolve around farming, there are still so many fun things I will be making time for this spring.
I made a list of all the fun things I want to do this spring and it’s definitely made with the rural-ish girl in mind. Ya know the girls who live in rural communities, may be involved in farming, but also like to be a bit boujee and have lots of fun? Yup, that’s the one. Check out my list and let me know what you’d add!
15 Things To Do This Spring
1. Go to a greenhouse
There is nothing that screams spring more than going to the greenhouse and getting allllll the flowers you need for your fresh landscaping and flower pots. It’s so exciting!
2. Plant Flowers
Obviously once you buy your flowers.. you have to plant them! Each year I accumulate more and more flower pots which means I have to plant more and more flowers – and I am a-okay with that.
3. Try a new hobby
I think it will be really fun this summer to push myself outside of my comfort zone and try a new hobby! I’ve been seeing people on Pinterest painting canvas bags, which I think would be fun.
4. Bake something
Spring is the best time of year to bake something light and fruity. Since I have been making sourdough I think I’m going to make a lemon raspberry sourdough cake – it sounds so spring-y!
5. Have a bonfire
The first bonfire of the year is always a fun one. It’s perfect for those spring nights that are still a bit chilly, but you don’t quite want to waste your time inside.
6. Visit an ice cream stand
I cannot wait until our local ice cream stands by the ferry open up for the spring and summer! I’m dreaming of my first cone of the summer!
7. Have a picnic
Picnic season is back besties!!! IDK, but a cutie little char-coot board, a picnic blanket, some sunshine, my dog and a good book just sounds so good!!
8. Go to a farmer's market
Sign me up for fresh produce and all the vibes. When the Farmer’s Market in the city near us opens up for the first time in the spring everyone comes in droves, and it’s so nice to be able to shop outside and support local farmers.
9. Go for a bike ride
There’s just something about the fresh air and getting movement in when it comes to bike rides! We have a nice bike path in town and I’m very excited to use it more this spring and summer.
10. Grill out with Friends
BBQ season is back! Burgers, brats and more – all while gathered around with friends. It doesn’t get much better and we will be scheduling lots of grilling out time with friends.
11. make a flower bouquet
Fresh flowers are the perfect addition to your home now that spring is around! It’ll brighten up your home, add some good smells and just all around make you happier, I promise.
12. Paint a flower pot
I feel like having a cutie little flower pot that I paint would be a good addition to my front porch so I want to get this done this spring!
13. brunch with the besties
An outdoor brunch to be specific! Sunday Funday, anyone?
14. go for a hike
Again – another excuse to get outside and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. And things will be greening up which will be nice to see!
15. Country Drive at sunset
I’m going to do this in our ranger and just explore the winding country roads, listening to music, enjoying the warm air, checking out what the other farmers are up to and overall just vibing <3
