Happy farm Friday + harvest!
This past week has been full speed ahead with harvest. Corn silage? Still going. Shelling corn? Still going. Soybeans? Going down. Basically lots and lots of harvest still going on (and it will be for a while). We did get a rain day this week which was a welcomed break, but we also wish we could have kept the hammer down.
This growing season we also worked with a seed corn company (Hartung Brothers) to grow seed corn at Avery and I’s house. They officially harvested it this last week and we are awaiting the results, but I got to ride along while they planted and harvested our field which was super cool. I learned our one 3o acre field could produce enough seeds to plan 6,000 acres of corn next year! Be sure to watch our video about it.
