Welcome to Beyond the Barn! In this series I’ll be chatting with other young people in ag to share their stories and connect consumers to the young producers who raise their food. Let’s get into it!
Hannah Borg
I met Hannah 4 years ago when we attended the New Century Farmer conference with National FFA. At that time Hannah had just landed back home at her family’s farm to take on a new project of raising chickens. Hannah Borg is the sixth generation on her families farm in small town Nebraska. Her family produces crops, cattle and chickens for Costco (can you say cool?!). Hannah and I chatted about what it’s like to work within a family business, social life in small farming communities, carving out time for joy and “splendid isolation” and overall what it’s like to be a young person in ag – and how we’re not that different from people outside of it.
Take a listen and enjoy the show!
